Tokyo Days, Bangkok Nights

So who exactly is this Kat person?

She's a 5-year old boy trapped in a 23-year old geek girl's body that seems to have originated in Mexico. A chupacabra in her own little mind, but prefers sushi and tea over goats.

Hi, I'm your anon from earlier. If you can find it online, you should use Ben Nye White. It's creme base and it's my favorite. You can get it online if that helps. Same with Ben Nye brand Setting Powder and Mehron brand Barrier spray. I do theater and I work in a theater supply store, so that's how I know. If you can't get anything like that, avoid oil or grease based and try to find a water base, if you can't find creme of course.

My answer:

Okay! I was actually planning on trying the Ben Nye one or Kryolan one but I didn’t have much time to prepare before the event. But I will surely try to get my hands on them next time! (^__^)

About the Death cosplay. Did you use creme makeup, a setting powder and barrier spray for your body makeup? If you do that, then it won't crack and it gets all over less things.

My answer:

Hi! I first tried using Snazaroo which is the only brand that’s readily available here in the Philippines and it really tends to crack no matter how you set it. I found an oil-based body paint and that’s what I actually ended up using. I tried using a spray as well as setting powder but it really tends to smudge. Though one thing I like about it is, even though it gets all over things, it really doesn’t come off your skin. I’ll probably try experimenting with other types of body paint but I really find white paint hard to work with and get even unless you apply it on really thick. Thanks for the advise, though! Cosplayed as Death last October 6, 2013 at Cosplay Mania. This was the first and last time I wore this costume because I had a hard time moving around due to the body paint. Hopefully, I can find a way to work around this costume so I can cosplay as Death again this year.Photographer: Erving Go

Cosplayed as Poison Ivy last Dec 15 at the 7th Christmas Toy Fair & 2nd Philippine Die Cast & Custom Car Show 2012 Event. This was the first and last time I wore this costume. I’m planning on fixing it and cosplaying as a different version of Poison Ivy next year!

Decided to try out the face paint for my new cosplay today and ended up doing a quick (and sloppy) makeup test!

Dropped by Kapow! Universe (a Marvel concept store) in Glorietta 5 and I had a little too much fun playing around with the shop decor.

Cosplayed as Fūko Kirisawa from Flame of Recca last August 31 at the Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention (STGCC 2013). After months of debating whether to push through with this cosplay, I finally did! I’m surprised it actually turned out well despite not having the time to do makeup/wig tests. I’m still gonna add that gem to the headband and paint the shoes to get a more accurate color. Flame of Recca has always been one of my fave shows and Fūko has always been one of my childhood heroes. Photo by Chrissie Ros
